Title: Underworld
Author: Meg Cabot
Released Date: May 8, 2012
Publisher: Point
Series: Book Two of the Abandon Trilogy
Escape from the realm of the dead is impossible when someone there wants you back.
Seventeen-year-old Pierce Oliviera isn’t dead.
Not this time.
But she is being held against her will in the dim, twilit world between heaven and hell, where the spirits of the deceased wait before embarking upon their final journey.
Her captor, John Hayden, claims it’s for her own safety. Because not all the departed are dear. Some are so unhappy with where they ended up after leaving the Underworld, they’ve come back as Furies, intent on vengeance…on the one who sent them there and on the one whom he loves.
But while Pierce might be safe from the Furies in the Underworld, far worse dangers could be lurking for her there…and they might have more to do with its ruler than with his enemies.
And unless Pierce is careful, this time there’ll be no escape.
Marshmallow thoughts:~
I enjoy reading the first book Abandon so I was having a high expectations for this book. This book turns out to be a major dissapointment. This book is terrible. Seriously, how did it even get published? What happen to the author? She have to be better than this. First of all, there's a lacking of plot. I don't think there's even any plot. The story takes out so slow. I didn't finish reading the book. I don't know the ending and I don't care.
Pierce. I like her before but now I hate her so much. One thing that I truly hate about a person is when they don't have an opinion of their own and are so easy to push while knowing that they could do better. Pierce is so hopeless. She is helplessly drawn to John and don't dare to offend him or anything. How hopeless can she be? The other main character that is John is also so annoying. I hate him so much. How can he be so selfish? No matter how lonely or suffering he is, he don't have the right to do what he wants to anyone. That's another thing I hate. In a lousy love story they all have that suffering one and the other will feel sad with the other and love blossoms. Heck, that is stupid. That is exactly what happens to Pierce. It looks like she is feeling sad and are drawn to John's sufferings. I feel like whacking her in the head. Have she not think of herself or her mother who will be looking for her? Oh yes she did but she did nothing to press the matter further. I don't think there's even one character in this book that I like. I hate them all. I hate this book.
Luckily I was reading it for free because if I did bought it I will cry. This book is terrible and is such a waste of money. I am seriously worried about the author. I wonder what happen to her to be writing so terribly in this book. I hope she gets better and her other next book wouldn't be as terrible as this one. I wouldn't be reading this series anymore.
