Hunger by Michael Grant (Gone #2)

Title: Hunger (Gone #2)
Author: Michael Grant

It's been three months since everyone under the age of fifteen became trapped in the bubble known as the FAYZ. Things have only gotten worse. Food is running out, and each day more kids are developing supernatural abilities. Soon tension rises between those with powers and those without, and when an unspeakable tragedy occurs, chaos erupts. It's the normals against the mutants, and the battle promises to turn bloody.
But something more dangerous lurks. A sinister creature known as the Darkness has begun to call to the survivors in the FAYZ. It needs their powers to sustain its own. When the Darkness calls, someone will answer -- with deadly results.

Yay! I absolutely love  this series. What I love about this book is that it has many characters with their own POV and I enjoy that as I always want to know how they feel. I finish this book in just one day and I keep thinking about it even after long finish reading it.

In the first book we know that people over the age of 15 will vanish and we also know that Sam and Caine (fraternal twins) survive the "step-over". No one for sure know where the "stop-over" will led to but no one dares to find out anyway. In this book they managed to survive by far but now they are facing another crisis-hunger. Food is running out and kids are developing power everytime. Kids are choosing sides between freaks and normal and at the other side of the town, Caine is forming a plan for a takeover after recovering from his own nightmare.

Sam on the other hand is handling many childish problems everyday. Though everyone respect and look up to him as a leader, but sometimes they do too don't cooperate. Gangs broke out, more people got killed, food become rare and it doesn't help that their food source is being guard by zeeks!
Though  Sam is being so moody and irrational sometimes but who can blame him? It's hard enough that he have to be a father over 300 plus kids, he also need to think about the threat from his brother, Caine.

It's quite sad actually to see Sam and Caine fighting and nearly get killed when they never even meet and act like brothers before. They never got the chance to know each other. When they first met they are already fighting. There's the part in this book that for a moment Sam and Caine are working together nd they are jut fine! I was really hoping they would become brother again but nah..that doesn't happen.

Overall, I'm falling in love with this book! Not falling but already are in love with this series! There's much more to know about the dissapearance of adult and more pot hole to be covered! I'm so gonna run to the next book after finishing this.

About Me

My Photo

It all happen, one day, when the sky is blue and the birds is perched high up the tree chirping their sweet shrill melody.
I was walking down the street humming a random song when I saw it....
The perfect, beautiful cover of a painting..

The bell hung on the doorknob give a tingling sound as I open the door. I walked toward the painting, mesmerized by the beauty of it. I stare at the beautiful portrait of a girl sitting solemnly on a chair staring out at the emptiness. She's in a room. A room filled with books. A stack of books piled dangerously high  near the shelf. The painting is so vivid and looked so real that I reached out my hand to touch the painting, ignoring the sign post shouting to not touch the painting.

As I reach out my hand to the painting, I could see the girl smiling. Or was it my imagination?
Suddenly, I feel like I'm being pushed and I could see the colour of the painting start to swirl and swirl and...

I can feel myself groan and my eyes flutter open. I try to sit while holding up my dizzy head in my hand.
I look around and was startled when I heard the voice behind me.
"You can't go anywhere. You have to stay here with me.Don't worry. I have a chair somewhere here." said the girl who was sitting on a chair solemnly....

Da da da da~ I'm thinking about writing about myself but I get carried on and didn't realise I haven't even talk about myself!
